AI video prices run from $0.002 to $0.357 per second of output — a 178-fold spread. Almost none of that is one model being 178 times better than another. It is resolution tiers, audio, and how long the clip is.
Here is a shortlist by job, with what a five-second clip actually costs. Every price was read from the provider's own page.
Prices last checked: August 26, 2026. Live figures are on the compare page.
The cheapest usable tier
| Model | Provider | Per second | 5-second clip | 200 clips |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LTX 2.3 Quality | Atlas Cloud | $0.002 | $0.01 | $2 |
| Seedance 1 Pro Fast | Atlas Cloud | $0.009 | $0.045 | $9 |
| Wan 2.6 Image-to-video Flash | Atlas Cloud | $0.018 | $0.09 | $18 |
| Seedance 1.5 Pro Fast | Atlas Cloud | $0.018 | $0.09 | $18 |
LTX 2.3 at $0.002 per second is the floor, and its description says it "generates high-quality video with audio from images" — audio included, at the cheapest rate in the catalogue. Two hundred five-second clips for two dollars.
That price makes it the obvious place to prototype. Whatever you eventually ship on, iterate here first: a hundred takes costs a dollar.
General production work
| Model | Provider | Per second | 5-second clip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 1 Pro (480p) | Atlas Cloud | $0.022 | $0.11 |
| Pixverse v6 | Atlas Cloud | $0.025 | $0.125 |
| Seedance 1 Pro (any resolution) | Replicate | $0.030 | $0.15 |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | Atlas Cloud | $0.039 | $0.195 |
| Seedance 1 Pro (720p) | Atlas Cloud | $0.047 | $0.235 |
| Kling 1.6 Standard | Atlas Cloud | $0.048 | $0.24 |
| Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro | Atlas Cloud | $0.060 | $0.30 |
The Replicate row is the interesting one. Replicate charges one flat rate for Seedance 1 Pro at any resolution — $0.03 per second — while Atlas Cloud tiers it: $0.022 at 480p, $0.047 at 720p, $0.11 at 1080p.
So the cheaper provider flips with your resolution. At 480p Atlas Cloud wins by 27%. At 1080p Replicate is nearly four times cheaper. Decide your output size before you decide your provider.
Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro at $0.06 is the workhorse of this band — described as "high-speed text-to-video generation with cinematic motion precision and enhanced temporal stability", with Replicate charging 17% more at $0.07.
When you need audio
This is the fork that matters most, and it is not about quality.
| Model | Provider | Per second | Audio |
|---|---|---|---|
| LTX 2.3 Quality | Atlas Cloud | $0.002 | yes, from images |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | Atlas Cloud | $0.039 | native audio |
| Wan 2.7 | Atlas Cloud / fal.ai / Replicate | $0.100 | audio + sound-image sync |
Wan 2.7 is described as producing "multi-shot narrative, audio generation, and sound-image synchronization". Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, at $0.06, produces silent video.
If you need sound, the real comparison is not $0.06 against $0.10 — it is $0.10 against $0.06 plus a separate audio generation and synchronisation step. Wan 2.7 is very likely the cheaper path. If your video ships muted in a feed, you are paying 67% more for a track you will discard.
Seedance 2.0 Mini at $0.039 is the budget option with native audio, at less than half Wan's rate.
Premium and 4K
| Model | Provider | Per second | 5-second clip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kling 3.0 Standard | Atlas Cloud | $0.071 | $0.355 |
| Kling 3.0 Pro | Atlas Cloud | $0.095 | $0.475 |
| Seedance 1 Pro (1080p) | Atlas Cloud | $0.110 | $0.55 |
| Seedance 2.5 | Atlas Cloud | $0.134 | $0.67 |
| Kling 2.1 Master | Atlas Cloud | $0.238 | $1.19 |
| Kling 3.0 4K | Atlas Cloud | $0.357 | $1.79 |
The 4K tier is not an incremental upgrade — it is 3.8 times the Pro tier and 5 times the Standard. Two hundred five-second clips at 4K is $357; the same batch at Kling 3.0 Standard is $71.
Before paying it: Atlas Cloud lists a video upscaler at $0.018 per second. Generating at 1080p and upscaling costs a fraction of generating at 4K. Whether the result holds up is a test, not a calculation — but it is a test worth running before committing $357 to a batch.
Specialist jobs
- Lip-sync. Veed Lipsync at $0.013 per second on Atlas Cloud is the cheapest route in the catalogue. Note that fal.ai prices the same class of model per minute — $0.40 a minute is $0.0067 a second, cheaper still. Convert before comparing.
- Image-to-video. Wan 2.6 Image-to-video Flash at $0.018 is the cheapest starting point; Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro is $0.060 for the same mode.
- Video editing. Wan 2.7's video-edit endpoint is $0.100 — the same rate as generating a new clip, so editing costs no premium.
The two multipliers that beat every model choice
Clip length. Every price here is per second. Ten-second clips cost exactly double five-second ones. Changing that one line in a brief moves the budget more than switching models.
Takes. Video prompts rarely land first time. Three takes per finished clip triples every number above. Measure your real rate during a pilot.
Combined, ten seconds at three takes is six times the naive estimate — before you have changed anything else.
What this list cannot tell you
Which model makes the better video.
Everything here is price and documented capability. Motion coherence, whether a subject holds together across frames, whether a camera move looks deliberate — none of it is in a price, and the descriptions quoted are claims by the makers, not measurements.
Prototype on LTX 2.3 at $0.002 a second, shortlist two or three from the right band, and generate the same prompt on each at your real clip length. Watch the middle of the clip; that is where video models come apart.
